Episode 8: Getting Directions

Good now.

For the past two days I have had the worst headache. I have been in a corner on my sofa with my eyes closed. Then out of nowhere, I got a download. Clear, unmistakable — "start a channel, and speak what comes through in it out loud, into the world." That's the whole download. I didn't listen because of course my head was pounding. I put the blanket back over my head and closed my eyes. The pain just amplified even more.

Then, out of nowhere, a friend called me. She suggested I do the exact same thing: "You should create a channel, I think you would be really good at it."

Still, I went back and forth in my head. I didn't know if I should do it. And somewhere in that uncertainty, the headache kept increasing. I took ibuprofen. I took Advil. I tried eating. I drank more water than I probably needed to. Nothing touched it. It just sat there, refusing every physical remedy I threw at it, which told me something — this wasn't a body problem. This was the ingredient of Hurts.

Hurts is the physical manifestation of Hz — frequency made measurable through the body, rather than an instrument. Where Hertz measures cycles per second in the external world, Hurts measures amplification through pain itself: the more intense the pain, the more amplified the frequency of whatever working it’s attached to. Pain isn’t a side effect of the recipe — it’s the readout. My body is the instrument.

So I did what I always do when I'm standing between two choices and can't feel my way to one cleanly. I took the options in front of me and ran the numerology on each of them, separately. Shouldn’t I? Should I?

Option 2 fit. Which was to create a channel and call it "Welcome To Now." It fit so cleanly I couldn't argue with it anymore, even without fully understanding why I should even do it or what I should even talk about.

I made the decision, then I carried it out. The second I finished recording, finished speaking what the download had given me — I looked at the clock and the time reduced down to 7.

The ingredient of Pluto.

The exact number tied to completion, to the moment something crosses from unformed into real, sitting right there on the clock at the precise second I finished. And the headache — the one that hadn't moved for Advil, for food, for water, for two entire days — was gone.

I ran the numerology on the channel name — “Welcome to Now”. I reduced each word on its own. Welcome (7, Pluto). To (8, Jupiter). Now (7, Pluto).

Pluto. Jupiter. Pluto.

Doubled, wrapped around Jupiter on both sides — I hadn't planned that. I built the recipe from what I was living through in real time, and only afterward did the math confirm the ingredients.

Jupiter governs flow through water — internal and external. It mediates between the two, meaning the alchemist’s own body is always half the channel. Its core mechanism is the echo: whatever is sent into that water returns intact. Jupiter also governs memory — remembering where and how the water flows, and remembering that the alchemist is part of that flow, not separate from it. It never holds still; stagnant water serves nothing, so Jupiter is defined by continuous motion, always carrying something somewhere.

Pluto, was amplified through Hurts, combined with Jupiter — together, this recipe reached across the hollow to retrieve something whole from another point in time, and the amplification made sure nothing was lost in that reach.

Jupiter is what actually carries it back — the water, the channel, the echo that returns exactly what was sent, no matter how far it traveled to get here. The pain isn’t separate from the working. It’s the readout, telling me in real time how much was moving through that channel, and how far it had to travel to arrive “now”.

When the headache lifted the instant I finished, — that was the retrieval completing. The channel closed because the message had already landed, whole, exactly the way it was sent.

Enjoy your now.
