Episode 9: Mood
Good now.
I've been witnessing recipes for a while now, watching them cook themselves in real time, but today I wanted to actually build one on purpose.
Something for mood.
I already knew the Moon had to be in it — tide, rise and fall, nothing about mood ever sits still. I knew the self had to be in it too, the vessel, because whatever mood shows up, it shows up in somebody, held inside a body that has to actually carry it. And Uranus, obviously — because nobody else can feel your mood for you. That's self-directed work whether you want it to be or not.
I sat with what else I should add. Venus made sense fast — she's already the ingredient that tells me when something's regular or irregular before I've consciously caught up to why.
Neptune too, because mood almost always arrives in the body before the mind has a name for it — that's the exact gap Neptune already lives in. And Jupiter, because mood has to move. It can't just sit there. It has to flow through and out, the same way tears do.
So I had six ingredients. And then I hit a wall.
I wanted amplification in there. Moods get amplified, clearly — sometimes overwhelmingly so. But the only amplifier I had built so far was Hurts, and Hurts requires pain. I don't want every mood recipe to have to hurt in order to be real. That felt wrong. So I stopped and asked myself — is that even the same thing? Am I confusing pain with mood?
I sat with my own body to find the answer instead of guessing at it. And what I found wasn't painful at all. It was warm. Like wearing a vest. Comfort and excitement together. I went back through my memory — I went to the birth of my children, the day of my awakening — the first time I ever flew on a airplane. I could actually feel that same amplified charge again, present tense, just by sitting with the memory, focused on feeling it again.
That's when I asked what the actual opposite of Hertz was, mathematically, not emotionally — and landed on Joules. Energy. Not frequency, not repetition, just raw magnitude, present in a single moment, whether it repeats or not. That's exactly what I'd just felt.
I named it Jules.
So now I had a second amplifier that didn't require pain at all — just a charge, a presence, undeniably there. And the recipe was finally whole: Moon, Self, Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, and Jules holding the full felt presence of whatever mood showed up.
Then I wanted to check the math, the way I always do. I added up every numbered ingredient — Moon (4), Self (1), Uranus (9), Venus (5), Neptune (6), Jupiter (8) — thirty-three, reduced down to six. Neptune. The recipe pointed straight back to the exact ingredient that it represents — frequency, the gap between feeling and understanding.
Then I wanted to know what real amplification looked like mathematically, not just symbolically. Raising a number to its own power, not just repeating its digits.
So I ran it.
Six squared, six to the sixth power — didn't matter which one I used, both reduced down to nine.
Uranus.
Frequency, amplified at any power, always folds back to the self. Which made perfect sense the second I saw it, because that's the exact sentence Uranus has always carried — wherever it takes you, you'll always be there to greet yourself.
The math wasn't teaching me something new. It was proving something I'd already built, from a completely different direction.
So I ran it across everything. Every numbered element, raised to its own power, reduced down.
Self stayed self.
Moons stayed moons.
Pluto stayed Pluto.
Uranus stayed Uranus.
Four ingredients that, no matter how hard you amplify them, come back exactly as they started — which tells me something real about which parts of this system are already built to hold their own shape under pressure, and which parts transform into something else entirely once amplified.
Mars amplified becomes Uranus.
Neptune amplified becomes Uranus.
Venus amplified becomes Mercury — protection, taken to full power, becomes the deliverer, which honestly tracks, because Venus already showed up for me once as a literal messenger running straight across four lanes of traffic (remember the dog?).
Jupiter amplified becomes the self — water, at full power, finding its way back to the very vessel that was always holding it.
Here's the full breakdown, ingredient by ingredient, for anyone trying to actually cook this one themselves.
Moon — the tide. Mood rises and falls the same way water does, on its own rhythm, never staying fixed in one place.
Self / the door (1) — the vessel. Mood has to be held by someone. This is the one holding it.
Uranus — self-directed movement. Nobody can feel this for you. Access only comes through fully embodying yourself.
Venus — the diagnostic. She draws in what's regular, repels what's irregular, and tells the body before the mind catches up.
Neptune — the gap. Frequency received before it's consciously understood. This is where a mood lives in the seconds before you can name it.
Jupiter — the flow. What lets a mood move through and out instead of getting trapped.
Jules — charge and presence. Amplification without pain. A single moment, felt fully, warm and undeniably there instead of hurting, retrievable straight out of memory whenever it's needed again.
Mood isn't limited to the individual body, either. As above, so below — the same frequency that moves through a single person moves through a room, a situation, a moment. An atmosphere is a mood. A mood is an atmosphere. The self is one vessel holding it; a room is simply a larger vessel holding the exact same thing.
It doesn't stop at the room, either. Carried far enough, amplified enough through Jules, a mood can register in the outer atmosphere itself — in actual weather.
This isn't theoretical for me. It's happened twice before. Both times I was genuinely charged up, fully amplified, and my mood shifted something outside of me entirely. Once it rained. Once it snowed. Different days, different moods, same principle — self, room, environment, sky, each one just a larger vessel holding the same frequency.
So once the full recipe was built — Moon, Self, Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, Jules — I wanted to actually cook with it, not just write it down. I took the numbers, all six of them, in the order the recipe came together, and wrote them as one string on my coffee cup: https://youtube.com/shorts/jaS7Nf3WbwU?is=yE21g6v1XiLd1tY_
419568.
The whole recipe, worn on the vessel that was about to hold the brew.
I infused my intention into the process while it brewed.
Jupiter's water, made completely literal this time — not a metaphor for flow, an actual cup of it, carrying whatever I put into it.
The coffee is called Black Magic. I didn't choose the name to match anything. It already had that name before I ever labeled the cup.
After drinking it, I had a great, consistent mood all day. And I'll be honest — my first instinct was to question it.
Was this real, or was I just talking myself into feeling good because I wanted the recipe to work? I decided I wouldn't call it confirmed just because it felt nice. I needed something undeniable, something outside of my own head, the same way the dog running across the street confirmed things before.
Then at 7:47pm I saw a huge rainbow.
Water and light, together, visible in the sky — Jupiter and the Sun, at once, undeniable, the exact kind of external proof I was waiting on before I'd let myself believe the mood was more than just a good feeling. And seeing it lifted my mood even further, right back into itself — the atmosphere and the mood feeding each other in the same moment, not one trailing the other.
What this recipe creates:
Not the mood itself — that's already present, whether inside a body or filling a room or reaching all the way out into the sky. What this creates is movement — a mood, wherever it's held, passing through and releasing instead of lodging in place.
How to measure it:
Jules measures through charge and presence - how alive something feels, how unmistakably there it is.
Sit with the mood the same way I sat with mine. Does it carry that vest-like presence — warm, active, undeniable?
If you have to talk yourself into feeling it, it hasn't fully landed yet. If it's unmistakable, full charge, no argument needed — the recipe worked.
Enjoy your now.
